2008.01.09
The pond is heart-shaped and home to many interesting aquatic creatures; along the banks, I have seen foxes, herrons, and even an owl.

The gray skies dominated our landscape today but it was very warm and all the snow is gone. Time for another 12 inches and a snow day off school!

Even though everything seems dormant to the eye, there's a lot of waterfowl and other interesting creatures who call this place home.

This park was originally wooded land, much higher in elevation. Because we live in an area which is primarily sandy AND this particular land is adjacent to a Interstate 94, the sand was dug out and used to build the highway. Fortunately some folks had the great idea to turn it into a park. The walking paths are great--and it is where I go to walk away the day's stress after work. The interesting part is being down "in" the park and feeling like you're away from the city.

Looks like a fantastic place to walk and decompress ... especially after spending your days in the way YOU do! Hard to tell this is right off the highway!
