The Rocky Mountains...gotta cross them to get to Nevada--but wow! Turbulence was...turbulent. It hit so hard at one point, the soda of a woman in front of us went flying into the air and was all over her seat companions.

Being an Adrenaline junkie, I thought about getting on this ride...until I saw what it actually did. Then and there, I realized I'd met my match and bowed in defeat to my foe. Sorry it's off-center, but I took it through a fence, which was in place so the rest of us didn't blow off the building. Now, remember the view from the photo just above this one? Yeah, these people, should the "claw" accidentally drop them, would plummet to an untimely death and be a splotch on the pavement in front of the Sahara. No, there is nothing beneath these people...no safety net, no harnesses...nuttin'!

The next group of nuts got on THIS ride. It is a car which holds about 8 people in rows of 2. My guy and I were inside the observation deck and when I looked up, I saw terror on the face of the dude in the front seat. Some in the medical profession might call it "shock." The hydraulic arm tips then "dumps" the car over the edge of the tower, leaving the riders to (hopefully) be suspended mid-air to "enjoy" the view of the city--face-down! They had on a seatbelt, but I didn't see much else to keep them strapped in. I must publicly declare that I am officially a wuss.

See description above. The arm juts out then tips...over the edge of the building...facing down toward Las Vegas Blvd....which is waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy below.

My sister is a WUSS!? Never having been to Vegas, I didn't know there were "rides"... interesting. Great shots from the plane!

Never been to Vegas but can't blame you for going this time of year to a desert. As for those rides...I am dizzy just thinking of them. I am more a "merry-go-round" type of person!! Hope you have (or had) fun!!

WOW! I got vertigo just looking at these! I have ridden the roller coaster on the top of the NY, NY hotel on the strip, but its "TAME" compared to this beast! I would have bowed to the foe as well. Smart move, IMHO =)

WOOO-HOOO a thrill seeking!! Not me!! I will stick to tracking Mountian Lions..That ride is way too scary for me!! Cool shots!
