A direct translation will be Market Street.
This area is known to be where almost all shops lining the street sell electronics and electrical related items. Students, electronic geeks, people who repair electrical items and hobbyist would come here looking for cheap parts. Believe me, you can make and assemble your own hi-fi system, radio transmitter or any other gadget if you know what things to buy here.
But for the past few years, other kind of things are also being sold here - shoes, clothing apparels, traditional medicines, health food, gemstones, cheap made-in-china gadgets, handbags, fakes etc - with temporary stalls being set up in front of the shops.
The real (wet) market is actually behind the row of the shops. Nearer to it, you can find quite a lot of stalls selling ornamental tropical fishes. You can even find and buy the
Arowana here.
I came here during lunch hour to find some TV cable. Since moving into the new house, I have yet to hook the TV into its proper outdoor antenna. I have only used the cheap indoor antenna and the TV reception has been like crap. My daughter has been bugging me about this since she can't really enjoy her dose of cartoons.
Chinese New Year is just around the corner, so I have the red lantern shots more than others. My cheap camera can't really handle the strong sunlight well...
