Bodega!

2008.03.10
The Barrister Winery is located downtown Spokane, WA in an old renovated warehouse. The lighting was amazing! It was started by two lawyers and they were there pouring for us. The ambiance was worth the wait on this one!

Beautiful colors and awesome track lighting really lit this wall up.

Our wine tasting crew.

Ashley was initially not a fan of red wines...Barrister changed her mind.

From Barrister we had a short walk to our hitching post...The Onion. We had the BEST weather! It was in the low 50's (for us Michiganders, that's a heat wave!) and sunny. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

Miss Jenna is enjoying her tasty treat.

The Onion has a special feature for "insiders" like us! It isn't on the menu - but we were intrigued when we heard about it...Deep Fried Oreos, complete with hot fudge and whipped cream!

As you can see, this was more of a "people shoot" than a scenery shoot. The Barrister Winery had such amazing lighting in it that I couldn't stop being a shutterbug. If I lived in Spokane, I would shoot all of my portraits there. I really hate to post so many pictures on one blog, but I couldn't choose...so bear with the overwhelming amount!

We met up with the rest of the gang at The Onion. It's a little sports bar downtown Spokane. After my very first Deep Fried Oreo Cookie...I spent the rest of the night in my hotel room in the fetal position, wishing I could "do over" that decision. It was just too rich for my tummy, not to mention a thousand calories!

ambersunsets Great set. I like the tone and composition of #4.
Sorry you got sick....I'll keep that in mind if I'm ever offered a fried Oreo cookie:)

KerBear Deep Fried Oreo... I can see how that would intrigue you... especially with the hot fudge and whipped cream... but I can also understand that it would be way too rich and way too many calories!! All such wonderful shots...
I could go for some wine tasting... might have to make a trip to the Niagara region in the spring.... hmmmm

mandylouwho Oh my stomach hurts just thinking about that food - but it sounds like a fun way to go!

focussed LOL @ the fetal position comment. It's probably a good thing that it made you feel ill....now you can just associate Oero's with that feeling and you wont be tempted to eat anymore of them!...Worked for me with Krispy Kreme's. Another fabulous set. I really enjoyed the feeling and mood.

MHJphotos Glorious! I have to know ... what the heck were you doing in "Spokavegas" as we Washingtonians affectionately call it?!

That is a cool looking wine bar. Such lovely colors and textures!

PaperWings Sounds like a really nice evening! Although, I thought the love for EVERYTHING deep fried was purely southern. Down here, I have heard (like it's an urban legend or something) about a deep fried candy bar...never had it myself, but willing to try it. :)

mar22 Wow, Meg Peg.. your wine tasting trip looks like so much fun. I am glad you got to have some fun. The pictures from both sets help us enjoy your trip, too. Keep up the great posts!
