Inside The Water Works

2006.12.02

These are shots from inside the Philadelphia Water Works. The town names on the front of the sinks(Pottstown, Phoenixville, Norritstown, Philadelphia) are all along the Schuylkill river until it meets the Delaware river. The large gears are left over from when the facility was operational.

CaptureAMoment The composition on the first one is extremely good and well positioned. I wonder why they would build the sinks like that in pattern? Any ideas?

jorgen Do the pipies connecting the sinks represent the river and the sinks the towns?

mugsycat The top sink/town is furthest away from the Water Works. The lower the sink, the closer the town is towards Philly. My guess is that the sinks represent the flow of the river. They never really give an explanation at the exhibit. I just thought they looked interesting.

Overexposed The sink on the left is for POPPA Bear and the one next to it is for MAMMA bear..... and way off to the right is for BABY bear.

jjimson Interesting sinks - very unique. Nice work. The distortion in the first one is a little distracting. :-)
