Castle Gardens

2007.05.01

There are more antelope than people in Wyoming.

Castle Gardens is "Wyoming Place No. 14" on the National Register of Historic Places. It is in central Wyoming, about an hour's drive from Riverton. The petroglyphs on the sandstone walls (pictured above) were made by American Indians hundreds of years ago while hunting and camping in the area. The round "shield" motif is an art form found from Mexico to Canada.

It was an absolutely stunning day to try out my new camera - an anniversary present. Love you, Ross!
