I'm thinking hawk also.... I saw a golden eagle up close and personal once and he didn't have this much white on his chest. Either way birds of prey are SO cool, it's always thrilling to see them. Good eye Hannah and great shot mom!

This is awesome! Agree with dkelly ... I could easily see this on tomorrow's front page. I too love birds of prey - I wish that they would come visit MY Backyard. Definitely a hawk to my eye ... I'll keep searching the web ...

I say hawk. Can't say which one, but the profile is very hawk shaped. Great shot!! Hope you get a 300mm for Christmas! If not, go buy your own!

Looks like a type of Red Tail Hawk an Eastern Juvenile Borealis. Hard to tell from this distance. For sure a Hawk.WOW what a great find though. Would be nice to have that 300mm eh?
