These are sad images...do they replant over there or just continue to log? #5 is great..its like a tree graveyard with all the "lucky" trees up the top looking down and paying their respects.

What is going to be put there? Why did they do this? Do you know? Wonder what they did with the wood. FYI- We have to burn off our praire every couple of years or it is taken over by woody species and brambles. That is a valid method of control to keep the prairie a wildlife prairie. Since we neglected to do that a couple of years when my husband was so sick with cancer we now have woods where prairie used to be and no longer have all the wildflowers I had planted long ago. We have a wooded area also with lots of wildlife that we want to remain wooded...but have to thin trees in order for them not to compete with each other. Since our house is heated only by wood, this works out.
