Aku sebenarnya terkesima seketika bila mana Simon Nash, seorang yg bukan seagama dgn aku pun, bersungguh-sungguh memperjuangkan hak penduduk Palestin. Memanglah, depa bekerja atas nama "human rights", at least they are doing their job..and they're good at it too.
Tapi kita sebagai umat Islam, cemaner pulak ye?
Bila Simon jugak yg mempromo
Enough! Occupation demo ni, semangat aku tetibe berkobar-kobar utk join. Dah ler yg promo tuh nons (ke mane ntah orang-orang Islam yg mengaku sedare dgn penduduk Palestin tuh).
Maka, aku dan rerakan pon pegi ler demo tuh. Soton hantar wakil ramai gak ke demo nih..haha..
By the way, demo ni sebenarnye bertujuan utk
menyedarkan masyarakat tentang kekejaman Israel terhadap Palestin bersempena dgn 40 tahun pendudukan Israel ke atas Palestin (1967-2007). Ekceli, banyak je organisasi yg terlibat dgn demo nih.
Demo bermula around 1.30pm and we marched our way to Trafargar Square. It is said that about 20 000 demonstrators joined the event.
There was this one time at the starting point of the march where we were approached by one of the guys that gave out the sepanduk-sepanduk demo tuh. Pakcik nih dok hulur la sepanduk tu kat aku. Yang aku ni plak, dengan blurnye (al maklum ler..tak pernah berdemo) tanye pakcik tuh "Err..is it for free..??" sambil pakcik tu tersengih-sengih gelakkan aku "Yes, OF COURSE!"
Duh..!! Giler malu....!!!!
Anyway, tau apa yg aku kagum dgn demo aman nih? The police, unlike in some countries, actually
HELPED (in one way or another) the demonstrators. They made way for us, escorting us all the way from Lincoln's Inn Fields to Trafalgar Square.. they even gave their promises of protecting us from any unwanted interruptions throughout the demo.
How's that for a demo, eh?
Anyway, kat Trafalgar Square event die 'bosan' sket just becoz i don't like speeches..huhu..ada banyak speaker yg turned up termasuklah menteri-menteri Palestin sendiri yg bersusah payah bagi ucapan dari Palestin through the tv provided (die cakap Arab daaa..).
After buying a t-shirt that says " Freedom for Palestine", we went back home..restless and voiceless for all that shouting of "Victory to the Intifada!", "Free, Free Palestine!" and some other chants that I can barely remember (banyak sgt sampai tak ingat).
Oh yeah, we brought back the sepanduk(s) too! =)
