Rilo Kiley at the Orange Peel

2007.09.28
Good Ol' I-40, the only pretty part in existence.

The venue of the night, I'd never been here before, but it ended up being one of the best venues I've ever seen! There was a HUGE fan that looked like it could have belonged to a windmill at one point in time.

Alright, I'll give her credit, she had on a very similar outfit to Jenny Lewis, but really...this was a bad decision. She ended up being a very cool, sweet girl and brought flowers, too.

The first opening act was Art In Manila, fronted by Orenda Fink from Azure Ray.

Kristin Gundred is both the drummer and the lead for Grand Ole Party. They were pretty impressive, although similar to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. She also played the bongos for Rilo Kiley.

Enter Jenny Lewis, the queen of Rilo Kiley and all that is amazing.

Remember Salute Your Shorts? Enter Blake Sennett, aka Pinsky.

Pierre de Reeder.

I skipped out on my last lecture today thinking I needed to bust some serious butt to get to Asheville, NC before the show! It turned out that the show was a couple hours later than I had originally anticipated! We arrived super early and got dinner at a Japanese restaurant before heading back to the line.

Overall the show was very impressive! We had some frustrating people behind us and a couple rude ones in front of us, but we had a really good time and I'll definitely be watching out for some more shows at the Orange Peel!
