As predicted, the baby bluebirds left the nest a couple of weeks ago. I looked for them for a few days, but gave up hope of ever seeing them again while they were still fledglings. This morning I saw some familiar activity outside. Sure enough, there they were! They look so sweet.

"FEED ME!"

Mmmm, worms.

"More, please!" This baby would not stop the chatter while Momma looked for more worms on the ground.

I'd read that bluebirds will start another nest within about 10 days of the babies leaving, so we cleaned out the box last week. It looks like they might be building a new one, as I noticed them making visits to the box in between trips to feed the fledglings.
|
After nabbing another worm, it's off to feed the kiddos again.
