A drive in the country

2008.03.15

The pear trees have been blooming all over the place this week. I would love to get a macro of the flowers, but all of the trees, including these, are on private property.

When Kevin and I got married, and I first moved here to NC, we loved to take drives in the country. At the time, we were looking for a place to buy land and build a house.

The land was purchased four years ago, and the house was completed a year and a half ago. Due to time constraints, as well as the price of gas, we haven't taken a country drive in a while.

Today we took a drive, this time to find things to photograph. I didn't take too many pictures today; most of the things I would have liked to photograph were on private property. However, I did come away with these two, so the drive wasn't totally wasted.

oldbabe The photos are so beautiful they almost don't look real. Wouldn't you just love to drive down that lane every day?

GnatBytes You did better than I. My wife and I also went for a drive and I came back with zero pictures and a front end that now needs re-alignment after hit a big pot hole. The Bradford Pear trees are great looking as is your B&W photo. Well done…. Excellent!!

focussed we put such pressure on ourselves sometimes to "get the shot" or get a few a number of them....I know because im guilty of the same thing.....The fact you came away with something is a success :)..and I'm sure you had such a nice day it wouldn't have mattered much if you didnt get anything...
They are both such beautiful shots..and has most others have mentioned, lovely contrast of b&w and color to show the blooming pear trees.
