Arriving to feed the babies. They're getting so loud now - I can hear them from the the other side of the yard when a parent arrives to feed them. I don't even need to watch the box to know a parent is there.

BABIES! I had no idea what I had captured when I hit the shutter, until I downloaded the photos onto the computer. I was ecstatic when I saw that bright yellow mouth, wide open and waiting for food. I actually caught it in three photos - this was the best quality.

The parents were so active at the nest box today, coming and going every few minutes. I decided to try to time my shots to capture them in flight - my first real attempt at this. Any other time I've gotten it has been by accident.

They not only bring food to the nest, they take stuff away, too. I'm not sure what this is, but I'm thinking its a piece of egg shell.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are approaching Zebulon airport. Please make sure your tray tables are in their upright and locked position. Fasten your seat belts!"

The flight has arrived safely at the gate. It's a lot more difficult to capture them arriving at the box than it is to get them leaving.

Still more housecleaning. I should follow this guy's lead and do my own.

such gorgeous little things!....As always, you've managed to catch some wonderful flight shots which highlight the wing movement so nicely...Sleeping in is over rated ;) Im also an early riser.

These are just amazing photos of birds in flight, and your narrative kept me laughing. Such vivid blue against the green background. The baby bird's mouth image is a real gem; I can imagine your excitement at seeing it. Wonder how many mouths are in that house -- what a workout!
