It's another hot day here in North Carolina. This little guy was trying to cool off in the shade. He must have stayed here for about five minutes - which is an eternity in squirrel time.

It's amusing to watch them. They'll be running along, then just lay flat for a moment or two. They're also drinking more often from the birdbath. Fortunately for them, I cleaned it out today. :)

He's got the right idea! On 3/16/08 I posted some squirrel pics, and your photo reminded me of the last several in that batch! One squirrel actually chilled out so much he fell asleep on my porch! gderuiter · 2008-08-04: 08:06

That's a GREAT image! Poor little guy, he must have been hot. I rarely see them stretch out like, but as my deck is in full sun, I guess it doesn't help them much! ScubaLiz · 2008-08-10: 00:11
