Melting the glass onto the wire, in two loops spaced a small distance apart.
Filling in the space. I love how the flame wraps around the glass rod.
Spinning and melting, melting and spinning - getting just the right shape and texture.
The hot glass glows like liquid magma.
She wasn't happy with the results, to back into the flame it went, to do something a little different.
A stripe has been added around the bead.
Adding some tiny little "knobs" around the beads. She ended up pulling some corners out of it, giving it a shape like a pillow. Unfortunately, my shots of the "finished" product did not come out well. After she was finished shaping, it went into a kiln for annealing, to strengthen the glass and prevent cracking.
Tools of the trade - just one group of the glass rods she has to choose from. I loved the color and transparency of these.
Some opaque glass rods, in brilliant colors.
I'm glad she allowed you to photograph this amazing work. Thanks for sharing:)
