While on the playground this morning, a couple of the children found a hornet. After photographing it, my co-teacher relocated it to some evergreen shrubs in the hopes that it will be sheltered from the upcoming cold.

Thanks so much for your comments. I'm really not sure where the little guy came from, but he was moving very slowly/sluggishly, so I imagine he was a little bit disoriented from the cold. The plant he wound up being transported to is some sort of evergreen shrub...I'm not sure which.
I love taking macros of bugs...it's great fun!
