our abundant harvest

2009.04.25

a costume in critique of the eating (and drinking) habits of america. if you can't tell, the headdress is made out of woodcut prints of diet coke bottles and some small found orange print paper, the bodice is made out of (3-color!) woodcut prints of budweiser cans, and the skirt is made out of three-color silkscreen prints of oreo, twinkie, m+m's, and gushers packages. and the belt is made out of woodcut prints of muffins.
i'm marching in the cinco de mayo stl art parade this weekend wearing this, so come see it if you're in the area!

the piece i'm standing in front of is also by me... it's a narrative piece about my childhood.
