driving through the northern half of california on a beautiful june day, we pass redwoods to astonish any sasquatch or fairy. farmlands and forests, beaches and bowers, we find ourselves at last on an island in puget sound, enjoying our evening wine and canoeing after a dinner cooked over a fire.
