177/365 Charlotte Sky
The photography meetup (www.meetup.com) that I am a part of had an outing to photograph the Charlotte skyline at sunrise. There was a max number of participants and when I signed up the event was full and I was put on the waiting list.
Right before I left work Friday, I got an email that a slot was opened and given to me. Great! It's Friday evening and I have 12 hours to prepare myself to get up... in 12 hours. That's hard for me... not a morning person! :-)
To my surprise, I popped up at 4:45 AM and got ready to go downtown. As I was heading out, I realized that my tripod was in my car. My car... in the shop, getting the AC worked on. Geesh! Forget it, I'm up, I'm going. As I am on the way, I thought to myself about our vantage point. Great shot of the skyline, but it's facing West and the sun rises in the East. Not all that excited anymore. LOL
Needless to say, being a morning person, I naturally like this better in the evening and especially when you can barely tell it was sunrise. Maybe if I'd gotten there earlier, I could've gotten some of the moon in the shot. I did manage to get some where you can see the sun's reflection on the buildings.
