MARKUS MIESSEN

né en 1978 à Bonn vit et travaille à Londres

Architecte, chercheur, professeur et essayiste, Markus Miessen co-écrit “Spaces of Uncertainty” en 2002 (avec Kenny Cupers), publie “Did Someone Say Participate / An Atlas of Spatial Practice” (avec Shumon Basar), et fonde en 2002 Studio Miessen, une plateforme expérimentale analysant les ressorts stratégiques et culturels des espaces nouveaux générés par l’urbanisme contemporain. Markus Miessen propose pour cette Biennale une structure de représentation du pouvoir démocratique.

Architect, researcher, teacher and essayist, Markus Miessen is the author of “Spaces of Uncertainty” (with Kenny Cupers, 2002) and “Did Someone Say Participate? An Atlas of Spatial Practice” (with Shumon Basar). In 2002 he founded Studio Miessen, an experimental platform for analysis of the strategic and cultural mechanisms behind the new spaces generated by contemporary urbanism. At the Biennial he is presenting a structure representing democratic power.
