Paradoxes : les égarements.
Niek van de Steeg.
Sur le quartier de la Confluence, territoire en pleine mutation,Niek van de Steeg construit son oeuvre autour du souvenir, du présent et du futur de la Gare d'eau de Perrache, actuellement disparue. Une structure carrée de cinq mètres de côté et de trois mètres cinquante de hauteur constitue une surface d'accrochage pour des peintures et des dessins. Sur une des quatre faces est représenté un panorama peint de la Gare d'eau tel qu'il avait été dessiné dans les premiers plans. Sur les trois autres faces, le passé, le présent et le futur s'entremêlent pour questionner la notion d'utopie et les interactions entre le public et le privé face aux réalités économiques et politiques.

In the Confluence district, wholly changing territory, Niek van de Steeg builds up his work about the souvenir, the present and the future of The Perrache water Station, missing at the moment. A square structure, five meters on each side, three and a half meters high, sets up a surface where paintings and drawings can be hanged. On one of the four faces is a painted panorama of the water Station as it was drawn on the first plans. On the three other faces, the past, the present and the future mix in questioning the notion of utopia and the interactions between public and private facing economical and political realities.
