History books all seem to indicate that cathedrals were once coloured.
The Saint-Jean Cathedral goes back to its origins thanks to the polychromatic system of illumination called chromolith. The statuary of the three arches regains the colour it had in the Middle Ages.
Enriched with some fifty statues from those times, with frescoes and bas-reliefs coming in to fill the three tympanums, the venerable Old Lady revisits her colourful youth.
The Saint-Jean Fountain, illuminated in blue and white, seems prostrate at her feet, while Gregorian chants accompany her rebirth.
