Iudex ergo cum sedebit,
Quidquid latet, apparebit:
Nil inultum remanebit.

When therefore the judge will sit,
whatever hides will appear:
nothing will remain unpunished.

"Dies Irae" (Day of Wrath) is a thirteenth century Latin hymn thought to be written by Thomas of Celano (1200 – c. 1265). It is a medieval Latin poem characterized by its accentual stress and its rhymed lines.

The poem describes the day of judgment, the last trumpet summoning souls before the throne of God, where the saved will be delivered and the unsaved cast into eternal flames.

atszabo Hm, a grim reminder! You did a wonderful job presenting this detail in the church!!!! Also, I noticed in the first shot, there is an angel holding a PAINTING? I can't recall seeing this motive anywhere else... I am wondering if you happen to know the story behind that?

stormfish the apocalypse is one of the most disturbed horror fantasies added to the - already quite disturbed - binder called bible. nevertheless, it has inspired countless artists to fantastically lucid and deeply philosophical creations... we are a strange species.
