acu-moxa department in one of many thousand hospitals of chinese medicine within china. these are walnut shell glasses with a medicated gauze inner and attached moxa holder. the little old chinese doctor waving his hand in front of the patients face appeared as curious as an alien with his short stature, impossibly tall forehead elongated through wearing a tall doctors hat.

moxa over mushroom to tonify kidney yang, yuan qi and relieve chronic disease of the zang and fu of the lower jiao by circulating qi and blood. treatment takes place over a long period and improvement is incremental. patients wiling to see an improvement in their condition present at hospital peristantly for courses of treatment with acu-moxa for many months continuously. differential diagnosis is made by the doctor and treatment is given accordingly. there are many streams within the river and fibres in a ball of twine. as broad as is the field of practice are there methods of treatment.

young people often prefer western medicine in china these days. understandable no? aside from the potential discomfort of having a cap of tcm busted on your arse many people in china have the time to get well. old men come to my mind who would present every morning and had done so for months. these old men lived to get well. they arranged their whole day around their meridian therapy and their internal medicine decoctions.
