[Tambacunda – Senegal-. January 2006]
[Camera: Nikon F65, analog!!]
At first some were hiding behind others, laughing and saying some things in low voice. But passed a few minutes, forgotten the coyness, they approached to observe us closer. Speaking with the hands, understanding ourselves with the look, sharing that so different morning from other for all of us. They, all that people, gave us their company, taking part with us in that adventure, shouting what we were shouting when the competitors were passing. Boys were playing at throwing a small ball, girls were surrounding me touching my hair, my nose and my skin, while I remained fascinated by the glass beads that were interlacing in their braids. Their faces painted with black stripes, the adornments in their hair and in their clothes, those deep looks. They were around me and I wanted to remain, forever there with them, learning what they do every day under the Sun of Africa.
