#203 Mandarina

She's Mandarina.
She was one of the kittens of the cat family living in front of my house.
She had her eyes infected and she couldn't see because of the sleeps. That was the reason she got lost avery night when her parents went there looking for any food. As she couldn't see, she didn't eat anything.
I decided to bring her at my house three days ago. I healed her eyes, feeded her, gave her a bath and I was prepared to keep her with me until she was totally recovered. You can she in the pictures that she was nothing but skin and bones, but so cute and loving.

I called her Mandarina because at first I thought she was a boy and I wanted to call him "Limón" (lemon) because with the eyes closed looked like when you bite a lemon. But she was a girl! So Mandarina was nice.

But all my efforts and affection have not been enough. I haven't been able to save her. She died last night.
I loved the way she curled up on me, how she climbed my body and fell sleep between my head and my shoulder...

It have been only three days, but I'm going to miss her so much.

Quizás es sólo tres días, pero eso es más que suficiente para obtener adjunto! Así que puedo entender que le echaremos de menos.

oh Ruth. I Felt something on my heart when I read the last part! You were so excited about her!
You did all you could... She was very cute!
But just think! At least those 3 days she was happy, she could have at least 3 days of the rest of her life with happiness... If werent you, she would not last those 3 days, and she would die in the day you found her for sure.
I looked to her with sadness.

by the way, this is one of the reasons I do prefer not having pets.
We love them, but they sometimes die soon.
I've had bad experiences with pets, so that I didnt have pets again.

Oh Ruth, that is so sad. At least you gave her some love, warmth and food so she died peacefully. Without your help it would have been a very brutal reality. She looks so tiny and helpless. Life can be cruel sometimes.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss Ruth. It may only have been three days but you were obviously very fond of her already. I'm sure she appreciated everything you did for her.

pOOR LITTLE THING. mAYBE SHE HAD CAT FLU WHICH KILLS KITTENS AND YOUNG CATS.

Poor little thing -maybe she had cat flu which kills kittens and young cats.

Oh, I feel with you! Our 6 year old cat Daisy had had an eye-infection as a baby and lost her mum and the vet didn`t give her much time to live(Her eyes always looked "milky"). But she is strong, beautiful, proud and a great hunter - and it`s only a few monthsthat we fear she really doesn`t see well anymore. Compared to "your" kitten she was lucky.

Oh I am so sorry to hear about this little kitten...the nice thing about this is she felt your devotion and love for those 3 days...I lost one of my cats last year and I was so sad for a long time. Lovely photos of Mandarina!!!
