What do you see? I'm sure this post will have lots of views (or not). Do you know why? Because the word SEX is like a magnet. I have a habit of looking the entries most visited from time to time. Yesterday, the second place of the ranking was occupied by an entree titled "Poder (libertad) sexual" (Sexual power (freedom)). The author wrote a sexist, misogynist and also homophobic text. Although I respect freedom of speech, I think Photo Blog is not the appropriate place to express this kind of opinions. But the most serious of the issue was that the text accompanies a picture of young children in a swimming pool. The word "sexual" with a picture of children (almost naked) is something obscene and sickening. This post had 491 visits when I saw it. Only two people had commented on the entree and one of them was even worse than the author. I wonder how many of these 491 people put a flag on the post. I did it (and also I wrote a comment explaining why). I'm fed up to the back teeth with people who use Photo Blog to divulge posts with explicit sexual content. One thing is artistic nudity, and quite another sexual and erotic photography. I don't think this is the right place. And whatever your opinion on any subject, you should express it with respect. The webmaster of this website is very generous allowing us to publish all our photos without going through any filter. I think he do it because he trusts in our sense of responsibility. We must remember that anyone of any age has access to this website. People who use Photo Blog to post inappropriate images or texts are IRRESPONSIBLE and those who visit their posts and don't put a flag on them are equally IRRESPONSIBLE. So please, let's do all that Photo Blog remains a place to share our photos and our ideas in a responsible manner, with respect and without offend the sensibilities of others. I know it is easier to look the other way and think that it's none of your own business, but if you see any post with inappropriate text or graphic content, please put a flag so the webmaster looks through it. If we continue to believe that this is none of our own business, one day we'll open this website and find it full of garbage. |

I have no idea what this is Ruth, but maybe I should flag it now before you reveal it to us... Hahah, only joking!! I know what you are saying and that blog now has 855 views...I had put the text of it into translate, but it didn't make much sense, so I gave the benefit of the doubt, in case it was actually intelligent or ironic in some way...I will trust you in your translation of it. Anyway yes, this will be an interesting experiment to see if you also get 800 views today...maybe I should draw a house and call it sexy house hahaha ;-)

If I had seen it for sure I'd comment, because i cant stand sexist maniacs, misogynist and expecially homophobic people! they are sick! Also Photoblog have ''cheaters'' that for some reason, I dont know how they put their pages in some software or in some site that makes their number of views increase! for example this one the other day posted at the same time as me, and he commented my post 1 minute after we post (because I've posted and he was before me) and I went to see his picture and he had already 300 views! tell me, Is that Famousy or cheat? its obvious that your ''homophobic'' guy did the same! please can you give me the link of it? or you couldnt save?

Yes, you're right. Anyway, I have never used the flag function because usually I watch only the blogs of my friends and I added them to my friends list because I like them and their photos. I don't like to watch popular and FP posts, and the views calculator is deceiving, because it counts every opening of a page, so you can just open your own page 500 times and you get in the popular list..

Well done for this post Ruth. I have not seen the post myself, but the words 'sexual' with pictures of children in it have NO place being together on a public website - even if the content is innocent it WILL attract peodiphiles. (unfortunately sometimes peodiphiles use pictures of children they have found on public websites and super-impose them over the faces of pictures of children being abused - thus preventing the child from being identified (my mother has worked in child protection most of her life, so this is not a sick urban myth, it is sadly a reality)) The web is liberating for some but a brutal tool in the exploitation of others. Use your gut instinct, if a post feels wrong then flag it.....

Well I would bet for half a mouth but to be honest that was before I read your text. Before I thought more about the opposite region :-)) To flag this pic was the right idea. I was on that pic and unluckywise as I dont speak Spanish I would not have commented perhaps even not thought about something.

OMG Ruth, you should be ashamed to put nude pictures of your husbands waxed toes here in public!!!! This is totally unacceptable!! ;-)))) i think it's ether your fingers or your mouth hmmmm not easy. Now about the main reason for your post, I do agree 100% with you about adding such titles to, or in association with pictures of children, even when they are dressed. This is indeed unacceptable!! But about nudity as a whole, pfiew, it's a hard subject to start a debate on, as there is such a thin line between artistic nudity and just plain nudity and then pornography, where do you draw the line? What you might find an artistic picture or sculpture or painting, others may think of it as porn or vice versa. As you know and have seen, i dare to set foot in the artistic nudity area, and admit that i want to do more of it as it is an art form that i've always admired. Nudity and art have always gone together hand in hand, Just look at all those paintings, sculptures and other art forms from years ago, Rembrandt, Breugel, Rubens, Goya, Jean-Leon-Gerome, Michel Angelo and many many others of which i can't think of their names right now, also the cultures, look at the ancient Greeks for example , the artists called it art, but the vatican (just to give the most extreme example) called it scandalous. Although anybody who takes art classes must learn about nude art also. Nudity must be artistic, nice to look at, and not vulgar. So to make this short, nudity for me is a yes, as long as it is artistic and clean. oeps, i was thinking of posting something special with a little nudity again soon, now i'm hoping you won't mind :-/
