Sunset at the Simatai Great Wall (Part 2)
2008.07.16
Because the Great Wall is too long and we started the climb around 3:00 p.m., we were euphoric to see the sunset despite the fact that the security was shooing us to go away because nobody should be at the Wall by 6:00 p.m. They're gonna "close" it --- but don't think about a door because there's none.
Anyway, the way back to the main entrance was far, so, we walked like a beauty queen with occasional stops for photos here and there. Of course, the guard was waiting for us. It was a good thing that he was cool at first but when the sun was completely unseen, he shoved us fast to the exit without mercy.

Look how the sunset changed the color of The Wall. It's very interesting to note that as we went down, the golden rays of the sunset was just fantastically amazing!

I took this shot in the last tower where visitors are allowed to walk. What you see below is off to visitors due to it's steepness and risk.

In this shot and perspective, I reckon that I captured the wall tower's strength and endurance.

I reallllllyyyyy love this photo. This is the best one I guess.
It's important to enlarge this photo. :))
The models are: my Spanish friend and the security guard who won't leave us alone. :))

Fabulous pink!
Well, a little pink at the distance.

Then, when the final goodbye is said, the world sleeps but the beauty remains there in the dark---because tomorrow is another day!

Impressive photos! Wonderful sunset!
Unfortunately, I was not in Simatai. I envy! Views from Great Wall in Badaling are not so interesting how in Simatai. But they are beautiful also. Stairs on Great Wall are very high but walk is very pleasant.
This is a very emotional set - just remarkable. It gave me goosebumps looking at each photo - one better than the next. What stunning grandeur! Thank you. :)
