Jim Thompson is an American architect who made / helped Thai silk known to the world. His house has become a museum with a really IMPRESSIVE collection of Chinese vase and wares, Buddha statues, paintings, wooden sculptures, etc...
His house is made up of teak wood and built to avoid flood which then was common in Bangkok before.

Alain, what a beautiful collection of photos you've posted of your day. I love the perspectives of 9, 11, 21 and 27. 18 is fantastic because when you put yourself in the shot, it really gave an idea of the size of it. Great tour! I can't wait to see more. :)
Alain, thanks for the tour. My daughter would love to be there for the food...Thai is her favorite ethnic. Composition of #9 is so good. It's great to see you and the Buddha together...striking resemblance, lol. I also like 28 of the young monks waiting under the umbrella. Are they reading People magazine, lol?
i love pat thai! haha. very nice set. hmm i was planning to go to bangkok again next week.. but because of the unrest.. my parents weren't really willing to let me go with my friends :(
still.. looking at your photos make me feel as though i'm travelling! hahah.
Wow what a wide variety of images , the food mage me hungry from the start, and the house was so fantastic very intricate, loved how you used the light and dark to show the wood. The Budda that lays down is long, great shot. Make me want to travel and see what I am missing:)
