Phnom Penh is a city of contrasts. While the Cambodians are proud of their glorious past as reflected on their magnificent Grand Royal Palace, what you see on the street is the extreme opposite of what it WAS like then.

In front of the Grand Royal Palace is the Tonle Sap River where the jobless, homeless, beggars and the poor usually hang out.

Fancy a cut here?
Street, outdoor barber.
When I took this photo, the smell was soooo awful. It's near the garbage where it looks like a hill already.
Can't imagine how they could breath with such an awful smell.

Phnom Penh is a dirty, smelly and beggars are everywhere. The city is a picture of poverty, struggle and untold stories. Walking on a street could also be dangerous as motorbikes and tuk-tuk would just pop up from somewhere in a hurry.

Aside from the tuktuk ( a motorized tricycle), this pedal-taxi, as they are called here, is everywhere.

Another brilliant set, #13 is just stunning (these dynamic clouds!). Great #25, it makes me really hungry – even if there can be some lottery after eating (this "good luck"...) :))
