The Tree

We (my husband and I) began clean up efforts today after yesterday's storm. Here is Kayla on the biggest one that fell. Well, actually, I think it was uprooted. The top part fell on part of my flower gardens. Oh well, it gives me an excuse to buy more plants (or a place to plant some of those rose bushes I just ordered at the buy 1 get 2 free sale- 21 of them in total, I think).

This was the old tree where the kids built their tree houses. It is probably riddled with nails. An old ladder was still leaning against the tree even though the tree house was torn down. I remember sleeping out in one of the tree houses with my youngest son, Johnny, at his request. It was full of ants and I got bit up. It was not a comfortable night's sleep either. But it was a night to remember.

The granddaughters will just have to find a different tree for their tree houses.
