Butterflies Flutter By

2008.08.07

Everyday I see lots and lots of butterflies fluttering by and land to suck nectar from my flowers. There is an especially large beautiful blue one I always see.

I wanted to capture him/her/it - not in a net - in my camera.

So, I was waiting, impatiently, sweating in the hot sun, for a butterfly to land and sit long enough to take a pic. I think I saw them sticking their little tongues out at me (and I'm not sweet).

Finally, a dinky little specimen landed long enough in the zinnas to appease me.

Now, where is that big blue one hiding? I'm sure I'll see him/her/it whispering "tag, you're it" the next time I walk by the flower gardens. I don't run very fast.

photopoet You did a wonderful job capturing your 'dinky' little butterfly.
