Puppy Love

2008.08.17

The dog was created specially for children. He is a god of frolic.
- Henry Ward Beecher

My dad named his rat terrier BRAM after Bram Stoker. Don't ask me why. I didn't ask him why so I don't know the answer. He used to call every dog he came in contact with "Shep" and his brother, Leo, called them all "Butch". Maybe it was time for a change. The grandkids called BRAM - GRAM. The kids have never heard of a Bram. They only know of Grammas and Grampas and Great Grams and Gramps. But Bram doesn't care what you call him amidst such lovin'.

My step-mom must have named the Beagle. Dad would never name a dog ANNIE. We had to put the child-gate up when Annie was inside frolicking (and just plain licking). She gets into more things than the kids ever did. I don't think Annie pays attention to commands yet no matter what you call her. She's just a pup. She's still learning. And so are the grandkids I call "pumpkin" and "sweet pea" - interchangeably, of course.

mowestlan the "grands" are just scrumptious! My favorite "dog" shot is the third...that puppy seems to be trying so hard to restrain itself...
