Ahhh! I went mushroom hunting twice this month and didn't find any edible ones (well, the first time we were looking for 2 specific types, and didn't know some of the others were edible--went and got a mushroom book after that). Pretty sure 11is an edible (possibly delicious) puffball--here's a page about them: http://americanmushrooms.com/edibles3.htm

I guess that is one way to tell! : ) I found a fairy ring in one of the parks we were performing at over the summer. when i went back to take a picture of it, some kids had stomped all over it. I didn't even get to make a wish. : (
