Getting the Kitchen All Sticky

2008.09.27
Grapes - take off stems, bring to a boil with a little water.

Press out the juice. (It's a messy business.)

Bring juice back to a boil, add Pomona's universal Pectin and a little sugar.

Remember to stir the pear honey simmering on the other burner. (Chopped pears, pineapple juice, sugar simmered together for 3 hours)

Ladle into jars, seal, and you have pear honey and grape jelly to last the winter or to give as Christmas gifts.

Finish getting the kitchen sticky and messy when you help your husband press the grapes for wine.

Wine in the making.

DancingDolphin I'm impressed, having never done either of these things! Did you grow the grapes or buy them? Nice set!
