# 146 The Day I saved a Woodpecker

This morning I heard a very unknown noise in my stable. When I looked for the reason I saw this little pecker sitting between a piece of wood and the wall - just in front of Hilde, our cat...

I picked him up, and sat him on the pillar of the fence you can see in the photo. But he couldn´t fly, I think his left wing is broken. A friend of mine took him to the vet, afterwards I will ask wether the vet could help the little pecker or not....

Some days later:

This poor little bird died of hunger. He must have been ill before, sure this was the reason that the cat acttually could caught him.... very sad....
