26. Predaceous Diving Beetle
Agabus seriatus aka Predaceous Diving Beetle or Water Beetle
About the Beetle :
It is a very ferocious beetle that lives in poodles and rivers. It is about 1 to 2 cm and it feeds in tadpoles, larvaes, and other insects. Its hairy back legs are like oars that are useful to dive under water! It also flies on the air very well. Many water beetles carry an air bubble underneath their abdomens, which both provides an air supply, and prevents water from getting into the wings (located under the ‘’shell’’). A nickname that people call the water beetle is the water devil. Also because of their rapidity they are also known as water tigers.
Don’t fear, it doesn’t attack humans, and even if they do, they are not poisonous and the bite is like from an ordinary ant!
Also this is my favorite beetle and my favorite water insect!
About the picture:
I decided to make some effects not just because the background was not the best, but because I wanted to focus only on the bug.
