The Volta do Duche, in Sintra’s Town, as usual, is the venue for the outdoor sculpture exhibition, "Sintra Public Art VI’’, which was inaugurated on July 11 of 2009, leaving open to the public for a period of a year.
This show combines the sublime landscapes, with the magnitude of the stone sculptures, as a way to reconcile art and highlight with the existence of a rock industrial extraction and processing, whose historical , economic and social development is closely related to the own town.
For a year all those who visit the Sintra may marvel, once again, with this exhibition, devoted to the subject of "Oceans and Limestone Formation’’ , which has the participation of 16 sculptors: Abílio Febra, Amparo Ruiz, Arlindo Arez, Auli Korhonen, Beatriz Cunha, Carlos Bajouca, Élio Oliveira, João Renato, Laranjeira Santos, Manuel Pinto, Maria José Letras, Moisés Preto Paulo, Nicolau Campos, Paulo Marujo, Romeu Costa and Stefano Beccari.
The exhibition "Sintra Public Art VI" is the result of an organization from Sintra’s Town Hall in partnership with the International Sculpture Center.

gonia you know Ricky, I'm completly art - ignoration, I don't like modern art - I'm too old in soul, as for me the last one - this poor hand catching the last place to rescue - is nice.

Jarvo Neat photos Ricky. I think that Sintra was one of the first places I went to. When I was a little kid (1969) we went on a long weekend to Lisbon (actually due to bad weather Porto became the first foreign city I went to, though we never got out of the airport). I believe we went to Sintra on a little train or tram. For ages I kept the tickets. I believe Cascais was at the other end of the line. I'm going back to Portugal this summer for the first time in 40 years. Thanks for the memories.

YUKJA Really interesting. I like stone sculptures in landscape.
I don't like that all the sculptures are on the same kind of pedestal, losing relationship with nature.
