Ammophila heydeni aka Sand Digger Wasp

The digger wasp do not live in community, they are solitary, they rarely bite and they feed their young with insects which can cause many pests such as flies, grasshoppers and worms.
These wasps are usually slender and elongated than the common ones, with the abdomen close to the 1.5 and 2.5cm .They are mainly reddish-orange or yellow but predominantly black.
With their legs they make a small tunnel on the sand (land) which will be their nest! They fill it with insects which serves like food for their larva, depending on the species hunted an insect or another, they nailed their sting to paralyze them but not kill them because if they do they can make their young in danger since they will eat the ‘’poisoned ‘’ food.
