Haha, Ricky, have no fear, this little one is TOTALLY safe, it's not poisonous at all. As you found out, this is a legless lizard. We have them over here also, but more inland. Nice shots!

Physically, what is the difference between a snake and a legless lizard? Nice photos -- I'll stay away from them, please!

Wonderful shots Ricky. They used to be common where I live, but it's too built up for them now. They're not poisonous. My mum used to play them with a kid - then again, I do remember her bringing an adder into the house once ;-)

Personally I want to stay away from them all, but many poisonous snakes have some bright colors as a warning.

It certainly looks more like a lizard's head than a snake's head - and nothing like a worm, to me! Very fine shot of it, though - and interesting conversations about it!!

Very nice shots It's a pity misinformed persons made up myths about the poison that could scare people into hunting this inoffensive lizard down and killed them . It's fascinating, it's so different..no lizard nor snake...something in between...Why ? I wonder about the reason...

they are not poisonous at all Ricky during my school times my mum found regularly some in my trousers because we used them to scare girls in the school and sometimes I forgot them. They even do not bite. If you touch one not at their tail because they can loose it if they are in danger. But it does not grow completely again

Well in the UK the slow worm is not poisonous, in fact I have sometimes handled them - I find them in the compost heap occasionally. Yes, they are a legless lizard and really rather lovely.
