This Monument was Built to all the emigrants that left my country to get better lifes. in one side of the monument says:


''Aos Filhos desta terra, que foram
lutaram e voltaram, e aqueles que foram, lutaram,
e não voltaram, mas deles não esqueceremos! ''


which means :

'' To the Children of this land, that went, fought and came, and to the ones that went, fought but didn't come, but we remember them!''.

and in the other side says:

''E se mais mundo houvera, lá chegará'' by Camões - Lusiadas

which means '' and if there is more world, we will go''...

I found out this monument very touching. maybe you cannot see, but from this place you can see the ocean.
here you can see a bit of the view.
