Anelosimus sp. aka Tangle Web Spider

Its a pity that I'm still practicing on my macros and many of them get blury, not because of the focus, but because I shake a lot. I must train a lot so that moments like these won't be that blury.
Nevertheless I presented the whole death. You see How death is close to you?

HoosierAtHeART Great set Ricky!! What a coincidence, I just heard them talk about spider webs on TV and they said their webs is stronger than steel.
HoosierAtHeART · 2011-01-16: 10:11
GKorts I guess it is not of your shaking Ricky, if you look at your EXIF data with 51/3000 you have to shake a lot to get blurry pics. I think it is a focus problem, there should be a possibility in your Nikon to set only one focus point and this one you can move to all the positions of the other focus points. So if you move to the middle focus point it will stay there until you change this setting. I came to that conclusion because at least on all these pics except one you find something which is sharp. I suffered the same problem for a long time until I found the solution with the fixed focus.

????? I agree with Francesc....brrrrrrrr!
????? · 2011-01-16: 10:58
????? Usually for "macro" I did the same as Gerd wrote above: one focus point only.
Like no. 1 and 3 anyway :-))

cariad These are really interesting Ricky - I go with Gerd's advice - just read up about it after some tricky shots of my own that didnt turn out quite as I had hoped.

Unchained · 2011-01-16: 13:13

mystic1 Well done on the capture
mystic1 · 2011-01-16: 13:22
yellodog These are great. I don't think it's your hands shaking since there are sharp points in all the pictures. I think the web vibrates during the struggle but mostly you should try manual focus. Auto focus is very hit and miss on the macro level. Focus as close as you can and then move yourself backwards and forwards till the sweet point is were you want it.
yellodog · 2011-01-16: 14:03
stabeez Nature at work. Great lesson in predator and prey and population dynamics.

SADHYA I think Manual focus will help, but so would a tripod. Or perhaps you just get too excited by the drama. LOL
(but I like them)
