The World After The Rain

2011.05.04

Carpocoris fuscispinus
pixel
Micrommata ligurina (female)

This spider was protecting its nest. it was so cute!I've found another walking very fast, but I couldn't shoot it! it was a male though.

Rhodometra sacraria aka Vestal (probably)
pixel
Sawfly from Pamphiliidae family probably
pixel
Dicyphus sp
pixel
Anelosimus sp aka Comb-footed Spider (probably)
pixel
Rhagio scolopaceus aka Snipe Fly (male)

This is a strange fly and scary. Snipe flies in the genus Rhagio are sometimes called "down-looker" flies after their habit of perching head-downward on tree trunks.

Craticulina tabaniformis

This is a tanned flesh fly ;)

Aplomya confinis (probably)

Pezotettix giornae
pixel
Leptinotarsa decemlineata aka Potato Beetle

Empis livida

One of the strangest flies I've ever seen. simple, but it's mouth is creepy.

Hylaeus sp. aka Yellow-masked Bee (probably)

Icius hamatus aka Jumping spider (Female)

I think I've never posted so many pictures.. hope you didn't get bored.
Nevertheless, as you can see, after the rain, there is a lot of things to photograph, so don't give me the excuse you don't have what to photograph ;)

Note: I'm recently obsessed about micro bugs..the most small bugs you can ever find. .. in this set, 90% of the bugs are smaller than 1 cm

poshrat Ricky - your blog is amazing - I knew nothing (and certainly didn't care much) about flies, bugs, spiders, and other stuff with more than 4 legs… but I am beginning to see that they are incredibly varied and sort of beautiful.. I have to say thank you - but i still don't want to be personally acquainted with them!!! And even someone as ignorant as me doesn't get bored with your bugs - just a little overwhelmed perhaps?

Jarvo What a fantastic set Ricky. Love the green spider. As for the fly wit the strange mouth, I can't help but think that it's trying to lick its own balls (sorry).
