Have you ever wanted that fancy dress that coasted millions but you wanted just to look better than others on that party or wedding?
Have you ever showed your money in front of others so others can see you've a lot of it?
Have you ever bought the most expensive acessories (rings, sunglasses, clothes, earrings , etc), just to feel gorgeous?

What makes these things a sin, if it is good for our selfesteem but makes another deadly sin (envy, jealousy) to others??

Dan, I think pride is when you insist that you are right, and you never even think that you might be wrong:) Pride is a tricky word for me - we have two words in Czech for this - to be proud in a positive and negative way...for example I am proud of my children - that is positive. Yes pride is a tricky one... I'm proud of my NOSE because it is a 'Seymour' nose and I like to think that somewhere in the mists of time I am related to the Seymours who married into Royalty all that time ago.. See here for Alleged likeness. (Picture #3) I was very PROUD when a friends Parents (an Earl and Countess) Had to ask which school I went to. They thought I might be one of them... It is said...."Pride comes before a fall" What is it about pride that can be so destructive in one circumstance yet so valuable in another. Being proud of another's acheivements or even oneself is an example of the positive . Being puffed up, haughty and arrogant of oneself is an example of the negative.
