Armenia: Teishebaini

2007.08.22

Self-portrait

Teishebaini was the second large Urartian castle in the territory of Armenia. It was built on the top of the Karmin Blur Hill in 100 years after Erebuni and not very far from it. The archaeologists excavated Teishebaini in 1939 and found there many interesting artifacts. It is a great pity, but at our time the ruins of this ancient place are rarely visited by local people and travelers.
