Le séquoia centenaire du parc...

J'ai souvent photographié les arbres de ce parc mais jamais ce géant : trop imposant, toujours hors cadre, trop douloureux pour les cervicales... Juste l'envie de cogner du poing sur l'écorce pour vérifier sa légendaire élasticité...

Le visage est tendu ; la décision difficile à prendre : l'arbre est fendu sur toute la hauteur. La trajectoire de sa chute, lors de l'abattage devient alors imprévisible...

fascinating entry. my first thought: how ridiculous we little people look when trying to tackly with the grandeur of mother nature, presented to us in a tree of biblic age. but that somehow doesn't cover it, really. what strikes me on second thought is how we, with our technical tools and mindful skills, actually DO form and alter mother nature's disasters; look as the tiny chainsaw these guys are using to bring down this giant!
