Out walking with Rascal today we met this flock of turkeys. Looking closer, I see they're coming towards us. This hasn't happened before. I'm a little fearful they might attack my dog (they're big!) Fortunately, they stayed on their side of the street and we stayed on ours and we passed without incident. Just like real traffic!!!

dadlak Nice shots. I saw the same thing at my parents' house in Orlando. Turkeys wandering the neighborhood like they belonged to the civic association. Check out my post of 2008.07.19.

????? well, at least they know the rules!! They are better mannered than some people I know!! I think this is so cool, I have never encountered turkeys before!!! (my husbands family doesn't count!) I especially like the dead end street sign- for some reason it really seems to fit in- I love this!!!! L ,R

DancingDolphin I try to be tolerant of animals but turkey's are so STUPID! They're everywhere up at the cottage. I say just carry a gun and .... well... you know.... IN THIS CASE, follow the lead of Sara Palin. :-)

catdad Great turkey shots, I'm surprised they let you and rascal get as close as you did, around here I'm lucky to get with 15 to 20 feet before they walk or fly away, and I think your dog is safe. cd
