How true...I agree completely. Some change is good but when it comes to meal time, the old ways cannot be replaced. I still set the table... even when it's just two for dinner. Nice take on the theme!

And while I own hundreds of cookbooks, today I am more likely to search recipes online!

Very Nicely Done....I can remember when cooking together was something that was passed from mother to daughter and family secrets were guarded closely.....

Bravo Bravo Bravo! Family sit down meals eating wholesome comfort food is not the norm today for sure......Fast foods on one end of the spectrum and vegetarian on the other.....Thanks for your great insight!

Excellent post, Diane. Just so you know, I still don't think they have any calories. :)

So true! However, my children still call for Chicken and dumplings and strawberry shortcake! I bake chicken or grill..though sometimes fry chicken strips in a small amount of oil :-) We never ate out..didn't have all of the fast food places or nice places either! I can remember mom treating us when shopping to a cherry coke and sandwich at a corner drugstore and that was a delightful splurge..
