Location: Clifton, Karachi

The majestic Mohatta Palace located at Clifton, Karachi is named after its founder, Shirivatan Chandratan Mohatta. Built in pink Jodhpur stone in combination with fine yellow local stone from Gizri, the palace has an area of 18,500 square feet and its facade is trimmed with windows, stone brackets, spendrels, domes, balustrades with craved floral motifs and exquisite raillings. From 1964 to 1967 the palace was the residence of Fatima Jinnah, sister of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Recently extensive restoration work has been carried out on the Mohatta Palace and it now houses a museum dedicated to preserving the history of Sindh.
