It was 104 outside and the water of the Potomac was almost like glass. We were sweltering... but we had a good time anyway...

Our kayak club, Southern Maryland Paddlers, visited Mallows Bay this weekend. http://www.dnr.state.md.us/naturalresource/winter2001/ghostship.html
Mallows Bay is home to sunken & abandoned ships dating back to 200 years old, including a large group of wooden ships that were scuttled after WWI. The wooden ships are now habitat for plants that grow up in the deteriorating wood. There is a lot of metal protruding out of the water, and just below the surface. The bay opens up to the Potomac River south of Washington DC.

wow...wonderful place,full of friend,happiness,calm water....you must feel the heaven....and 200 years ships remaining through the history,but human will leave the history behind..... can feel the freshness and coldness of water.. tnx for your nice shots..
